Contships Logisitics Corp. (CLC) is committed to respecting and protecting human rights, to ensuring that its employees are working under fair labour conditions, including with respect to workplace diversity and combatting corruption. CLC expects to adopt the Sustainability Accounting Standard (SASB), specific to the shipping industry for our ESG criteria, to assist in the disclosure of financial and sustainability information to our investors and stakeholders. Additionally, CLC is a supporter of the UN Global Compact initiative for sustainability and strategy objectives for the safety, security and protection of the marine environment with regards to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) modular system of interconnected standards advocates for an assessment that considers all impacts: operational, reputational and financial by internal and external stakeholders. At CLC our analysis model, which uses Materiality Standard (GRI 3, 2021), examines impacts of our operations and influences on our sustainability efforts.
Our Board of Directors considers the following issues for paramount consideration in our ESG reporting matrix:
- Operational statistics
- Marine casualties
- GHG emissions
- Renewable energy sources
- Environmental contributions
- Labour & diversity
- Business ethics
- Corruption
- Compliance & training
Our ESG annual report will be reviewed by our Board of Directors to accurately encompass the strategy and high level of expectation and deliverables to our stakeholders. CLC supports a holistic approach to environmental issues. This philosophy has demonstrated that environmental targets are to be surpassed and expanded as ESG is dynamic and must be developed continuously. We view the term, environment as not just covering GHG emissions and oil pollution, the management of change concept is embedded in the work ethic of all our employees and crew.
Our Board of Directors relentlessly strives to ensure appropriate internal controls and risk management systems are in place, encompassing our corporate values and ethical guidelines, including the guidelines for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Our Corporate Code of Business Ethics and Conduct together with our ESG statement and CSR are routinely reviewed by our Board of Directors.
Our policies and annual reports will be published on our website.
Together with shipping bodies such as the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping we contribute both resources and informational statistics to reduce the matrix KPI’s related to shipping.
