Gold Award – Leader Award for Community Contribution
Through its Chairman, Mr. Nikolas Pateras, Contships actively supports a wide range of social and philanthropic initiatives — in the areas of health, education, environmental sustainability, and the preservation of cultural heritage — through substantial financial contributions, material donations, and employee volunteerism. From hospital renovations and monument restorations to supporting schools, providing aid in natural disasters, and advancing maritime education, these actions reflect our deep social awareness and our commitment to creating a meaningful and positive impact on local communities and future generations.
Silver Award – Leader Award for Climate Change
In January 2025, Contships became the first private Greek shipping company to issue a sustainability-linked bond tied to environmental performance targets, amounting to 100 million USD, in the Scandinavian market. This initiative marks a milestone for Greek shipping, tangibly strengthening our commitment to decarbonization. The bond proceeds support a comprehensive sustainability strategy, which includes fleet renewal, vessel technical upgrades, and operational efficiency improvements aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fuel consumption, while promoting cleaner and more responsible shipping practices.
